Nowadays, grey-brown is a colour found in every interior, both very austere and classic. Unfortunately, it is not easy to find this colour among the thousands of different types of natural stone mined all over the world. Pietra Elena, a Spanish limestone, has all the assets to match your interior. With a honed finish, this material has a soft taupe hue. The white veins create a very natural effect, without being loud. Some degree of colour nuance in this material is perfectly normal: the basic colour ranges from brown-grey to taupe, with a structure reminiscent of Buxy. The veins also give the limestone a marble look, resulting in a floor with a certain ‘grandeur’.
With a patinato finish (i.e. flashed and brushed surface), Pietra Elena has quite a different look. It’s almost as if the colours in the material have run out during the firing process. The typical veins and grey-brown colour remain clearly present, though.
Pietra Elena patinato was used for this magnificent project, for both the tiles and custom-made components.
The austere, yet warm interior truly showcases the Pietra Elena patinato. The grey-brown hue of the material is a perfect match with the various types of wood used. Interior decorator Isabelle Onraet had little trouble convincing the client of this timeless material.
Because the tiles run on into the kitchen, it was important to choose a material that is easy to maintain. The nuances in the limestone make it difficult to spot a crumb or speck.
The client cannot imagine any other material in his home than the Pietra Elena patinato. He is extremely satisfied with his choice.
